A few frames from a short film I recently served as Director of Photography on. Blessed to work with @kat.avalon as Director, Actress, close friend and an incredible creative collaborator.

For this scene, I wanted the room to feel tense and emotionally controlled, so I built a custom practical to give the light motivation from within the frame. Shot on the RED Komodo-X paired with @atlaslensco Mercury anamorphics. The @reddigitalcinema KX and Mercurys gave me exactly what I wanted here: texture, separation, character, and just enough imperfection to make the room feel the way I wanted with texture and atmosphere instead of polished.

Always love getting these lenses into environments where they can really do their thing.

Back in May, we brought together a small but nimble team for an epic night mission in New York City creating “Dark Wings: Fallen After Midnight”
